McCarty's single propels  Cincinnati Riverbats 12U past  Mason Venom, 8-6

Cincinnati Riverbats 12U built an early lead against Mason Venom, scoring three runs in the first inning, en route to a 8-6 win on Saturday at Mason Sports Park.

Logan Sims was solid at the plate for Cincinnati Riverbats 12U. Sims went 2-4, drove in one and scored two runs. He singled in the first and sixth innings.

  Four relief pitchers didn't loosen their grasp on the win as they finished off the game for Cincinnati Riverbats 12U.  Josh Thompson faced four batters in relief, while Sims managed to record five outs to aid the victory.

The 5 Riverbats teams (8U-12U) that utilize the Plains Jr. school field for practices and games have a work day planned for Saturday, Oct. 2nd, 8am-12 noon. Even if you can only spare an hour or so, your help is appreciated. Back-up date is Oct. 16th.

The 2011 11U Riverbats team will conduct open tryouts on the following 2 dates: Saturday, July 24th, 9:30-11:30am at Lakota Plains Jr. School, Tuesday, July 27th, 6-8pm, Lakota Plains Jr. School, Click on the tryout tab on the left for additional information.
 05/30/10   Riverbats Win the Centerville Sluggers' Memorial Tournament
The Bats beat the Butler Buckeyes in the semi-finals and the Mason ACES in the Championship game to claim the title. Great effort by the entire team!
 04/25/10   Riverbats Win the Nations Spring Swing NCI
The Bats went 2-0 in pool play and earned the #1 seed going into the Championship bracket. In the semi-finals, the Bats defeated Storm Dog Baseball 11-0 to advance to the Championship game. Unfortunately, the weather did not cooperate and the Bats were awarded the Championship based on seeding.
 04/03/10   Riverbats Win the Nations Baseball Pre-Season Challenge Tournament
The Bats finished off a 4-0 day at Rumpke Park by beating the Haubner Hornets 12-2 in the Championship game. Congratulations Riverbats!

 07/07/09   Riverbats Wrap Up 2nd Place in the SWOL National Division
The Riverbats completed league play with an 11-3 record and finished the season with an overall record of 38-11.
 06/22/09   Riverbats Finish 3rd in the Nations Baseball OH State Championships
The team compiled a 4-0 record in pool play before falling to the Mansfield Mudhens in the semi's 6-4. The Grove City Windsor Park is a great facility for baseball. The boys played hard and got to experience playing some baseball after midnight due to weather delays.
 05/26/09   Riverbats Finish 4th in Cincinnati Flames Summer Classic
The Riverbats lost in the semi-finals to the Germantown Giants (Memphis, TN) after posting a 8-7 win over the West Virginia Baseball team in the Quarterfinals. The team played 6 games in 4 days over the Memorial Day weekend. This was a great experience for the boys as they were able to play teams from Tennessee, Illinois, West Virginia, Indiana, and Kentucky.
 05/17/09   Riverbats finish 2nd in the SWOL sub-regional
The Riverbats played some great baseball to reach the Championship game. The team played 4 games on the final day of the tournament and fell to a very good Flames baseball team. Great job boys!
 04/19/09   Riverbats win the Nations Spring Swing NCI tournament with a hard fought victory over the NKAC Worth Riverhawks
The Riverbats played great defense and had timely hits to secure the victory 7-5.
 04/05/09   Riverbats fall to the Cincinnati Red Stockings in the rain shortened final of the Cincinnati Midwest Classic
Riverbats were leading 7-6 in the top of the 4th and still batting when rain stopped play. Per the rules, the score reverts back to the previous completed inning, hence we lost 6-5 after 3 innings of play. Great effort by the team.
